Weekend in Sedona

It's no surprise to me that this post is about 1 1/2 weeks late. In fact, several of the other blogs I stalk frequently haven't been updated in the last week or so. Must be something in the air - the last flings of summer!

We had the amazing ability to take advantage of a 4-day weekend for Eric and enjoy a mini vacation in Sedona. So, without further ado, here are some of the pictures from our trip to Red Rock country.

We just HAD to stop by the World's Largest Kokopelli on the way up! :)
(see Kristen sitting by its foot?)

We could have spent $75 per person to take a Pink Jeep tour....

...but instead we opted for the Silver Jeep tour - for free! :)
We drove the most popular Pink Jeep trail, Broken Arrow.

Here's Kristen's "Wish You Were Here!" postcard picture.

Daddy and Kristen, enjoying a moment

So the toughest part of the Broken Arrow trail is this part called the Devil's Staircase. It's completely comprised of slickrock and a lot of dirt. Notice in these pictures how the Jeep is at a crazy angle. And notice that I was at the bottom of the hill taking the pictures. I'm no dummy. :)

We did a lot of Geocaching throughout the weekend, which was pretty fun.
Kristen calls them 'finding treasure'.
This one was disguised as a cactus. Would you just pick that up on purpose? :)

We had a pretty huge storm roll through. This was at about 4pm. There was
so much lightning and thunder, and then it just poured!

Here's what the red rocks looked like after about 10 minutes. The rain
was coming down so hard, it caused mini waterfalls all over the place!

Happy at the end of a great, relaxing weekend. We had such a fun time!!
