Bizarro World

So summer where we live is usually warm, sometimes overly warm, sunny, fairly dry - not humid. But I think yesterday we plunged for a short time into 'Bizarro World'. My sister, Katie, and I took our kids to the park for the day, a great park with water play for the kids, lots of open grass areas, and some wonderful play structures. So the problem? Well, if you notice in the pictures below, the sky was a little gray and overcast. And then - well, it rained. Yes, rain in July! Bizarre!! And we're not just talking sprinkles, we're talking a decent rain that forced us to leave the park early. A very different kind of water play than we had anticipated. And extremely strange weather considering that at this time last year we had a week of temperatures near 110 (and we lost our power for 3 days - that's a whole other story, though).

But at least the kids had fun while we WERE at the park!

What's in the bag? A special breakfast treat...

...a sprinkled donut! 'Hey, any more in there?'

Down the slide with cousin Jessey

Notice the sun in that last picture. OK, that's not from yesterday, but I just had to include it. That was a few weekends ago when we went down to Hollister, CA for the annual Biker Rally. And of course, once a biker, always a biker! :)
