Graduation Day

Today was graduation day for Class 439 at the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy. Eric is now officially a police officer for the city of Phoenix!

The day was completely packed with activities, and we have parents, in-laws, family and friends here to celebrate this occasion with us. (For all that weren't able to make it, thank you so much for the notes, prayers, cards, love, etc.)

The day started with an early flag ceremony at the Academy. Eric was selected as a member of the flag team, which was an honor.

Intimidating, no? :)

Being officially sworn in by the judge

Congratulatory handshakes from all the Academy staff

We then had a little bit of time off to recuperate from being in the blazing heat in the morning, and then the badge ceremony took place in the afternoon (indoors, thankfully!).

good friend, Chris. He's 6'10''.)

Eric was presented with the Firearms Award for the
highest overall firearms score in the class

Eric's dad, Rob, was asked to pin his badge on him

Look how official he looks with that shiny badge!

The reason why the class is all in different uniforms is because the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy trains officers from all over the state of Arizona. Eric's class was a combination of officers from Phoenix, Chandler, Scottsdale, Arizona State University, Yuma County, Gila River Indian Reservation, and DPS (which is kinda like the CHP in California).

I asked Kristen who was in this picture, and she said "It's Daddy and Kristen....and Lambie!"

At the end of a long day, a little tired, a lot relieved, and incredibly proud

But officer, I thought it was yellow! Possibly amber, but more on the yellow side of amber as opposed to a red amber...

CONGRATS, ERIC!!! It seems like those were a great bunch of guys. I feel safer already. :)

Another Congrats to Eric! Eric's friend is so tall! That's crazy! Kyle's academy was the same as Eric's- they trained officers/deputy's from around the area, but there were also a bunch of unaffiliated cadets who put themselves through the academy, and hadn't found departments yet. Were there any like that in Eric's?
