Before we even got out of the desert, we made a pit stop to try and help a CHP officer who had gotten his car stuck in soft sand in the median on the highway. Since Eric has plenty of experience with stuck vehicles and we just happened to have a tow rope in the back of our car, we thought we'd give it a try. However, after getting really dirty and almost pulling the bumper off the CHP car, we had to give up - there was just nowhere solid enough on the CHP car to pull it. At least we tried. Maybe that'll be good enough to avoid at least one ticket...hehe.
Main Street, Disneyland

Kristen saying hi to 'Doofy'

And her all-time favorite has always been Pluto

Riding the Rocket Rods with Daddy

Through Storybook Land with cousin Kiley

We even checked out the brand-new Toy Story Mania ride in
California Adventure. It was so much fun - and in 3D!

Kristen was SO excited to watch Minnie Mouse and Pluto dance
to the New Orleans-style band that was playing on Main Street

The whole Locke/Roy/Oxford bunch
Papa and Grammy with all the grandkids
Kristen dancing to the music before the Disney Electrical Parade
All in all we had a great weekend. It was so much fun to be with family again, and Kristen had a blast with her cousins.
So now we prepare for Academy graduation in another week and a half. In some ways the time has flown by, and in others it seems it hasn't come soon enough. Eric's graduation is Friday, July 18 at 2pm. There are only a couple of hurdles left to pass before he's in the clear. Yahoo!
So I'm off to enjoy the remainder of the peace and quiet in the house with both Eric and Kristen taking naps. Hope you all had a happy and safe 4th of July!

So glad you all had fun! What can one expect at the most dull place on earth? Oh, wait...
It's funny that you say there are only a few more hurdles left to pass. It's true in some ways... but the real work or training doesn't even begin until after graduation! There were soooo many things that Kyle was taught in the academy that he had to relearn once he was in field training because each department does things a little different. Congrats to Eric, though, the academy is definitely A LOT of work and it's a huge accomplishment.
Cute pics from Disney and so great to see Eric graduate yesterday!!! Can't wait to see your pictures from the ceremony...it was so neat in person, I even got a little teary. Whoa.
